Type Of Navratri
Yes, there are four types of Navratri that are celebrated in a year. The two most popular Navratris are Chaitra Navratri and Sharad Navratri.
- Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in the springtime, in the month of Chaitra (March-April). It is also known as Vasant Navratri or the “spring Navratri.” This Navratri is associated with the victory of good over evil and is a time for new beginnings.
- Sharad Navratri is celebrated in the autumn, in the month of Ashvin (September-October). It is also known as Maha Navratri or the “great Navratri.” This Navratri is associated with the worship of the goddess Durga and is a time for prayer and devotion.
