How to invest in yourself as a woman, we must take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. According to an NBC News source, “Women are twice as likely as men to be depressed or extremely sad” throughout their lifetime. Unfortunately, it has become quite a trend that Women are “burning out” from spending too much time investing in the wrong things and ultimately putting mental health and personal happiness off to the side.

Typically, you could consider going to the spa or on a weekend getaway with friends a true investment. But with an actual investment comes a feeling of something in return- usually positive and uplifting! If you are in the mindset to be a better version of yourself, check out these helpful tips!

I have split the “investment mindset” into three categories: health, habits, and experiences, which are all extremely important categories to consider when bettering your well-being.

How to Invest in Yourself As A Women

Health:

  • Hydration: Drinking water helps decrease the chance of having the awful symptoms of dehydration. Usually, this consists of headaches, nausea, and overall feeling extremely lousy. As a reminder to increase your daily water intake, consider an hourly tracker water bottle!
  • Eat Healthy: What you put into your body can most definitely affect your mindset. Switching your eating habits from a sugar-based diet to a more wholesome one will improve your body mentally and physically leading to a happier and healthier lifestyle!
  • Exercise: Participating in a fitness-related activity is a great way for your body to secrete harmful toxins. Working out can contribute to gaining muscle or weight loss, but overall, it makes you feel accomplished.

Habits:

  • Journalism: This activity is bound to calm the mind, it allows you to think things through at a slower rate. It can also provide a way for negative thoughts to escape the mind in a healthy way— you can literally write about anything! Talk about your siblings, a new skill you’ve learned, a new comfortable bra that has become you’re outfit obsession, your dog, or even a crazy dream that you’ve had.
  • Reading a Book: Novels are special possessions that allow you to escape from the real world. While reading a book, you engage in a life story other than your own. Books are also a great tool for learning new things! Reading with a glass of water in the morning is an ideal way to start the day off right!
  • Meditation: Practicing mindfulness comes with the ability to relax every inch of your body and focus on steady breathing and inspiring thoughts. Whether it is through attending a yoga class or doing so on your own time, this practice can help you feel harmonious and revitalized.

The benefits of meditation have been studied and shown to improve health, mood, and productivity. One of the most important accessories you can use while meditating is a meditation cushion, which helps with posture. This aids in preventing neck, back, and shoulder pain. The cushion also offers stability while sitting on a chair or even the floor.

Experiences:

  • Volunteer: Reaching out to a volunteer facility is a fantastic personal investment. Helping someone in need is not only contributing to their happiness but also providing yourself with an experience that is priceless. You will leave feeling good about yourself and the investment you made, how could you go wrong?
  • Travel: No matter how stressful packing and planning are, the experiences you gain from going to a new place are astounding. You can learn a lot from immersing yourself in a culture other than your own. Traveling can help you get out of your comfort zone, which then leads to personal growth.
  • Hiking: This is a pretty simple one, but sometimes just being outside in a calm and quiet atmosphere can help you feel better. If you live near a local park or hiking trail, make frequent stops to make certain you’re getting outside. There is nothing worse than being cooped up in the house all day.

Networking:

  • Build a strong professional network by attending industry events and joining relevant groups.
  • Connect with mentors who can provide guidance and support.
  • Utilize online platforms like LinkedIn to expand your professional network.

Financial Literacy:

  • Educate yourself about personal finance and investment strategies.
  • Consider seeking advice from financial professionals or attending workshops on managing finances.
  • Save and invest wisely to secure your financial future.

Self-Reflection:

  • Regularly assess your strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Set aside time for self-reflection to understand your values and long-term objectives.

  •

Assertiveness and Communication:

  • Enhance your communication and negotiation skills.
  • Learn to assert yourself professionally, whether in the workplace or in personal relationships.
    •
